Axios: Witkoff’s Gaza ceasefire proposal benefits Israel
According to webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, an Axios reporter noted that the new proposal by Steve Wittkoff, the U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs, disproportionately benefits Israel. The plan lacks a clear U.S. guarantee that the temporary ceasefire will transition into a permanent one.
The Axios report further emphasized that Wittkoff’s proposal does not explicitly state whether negotiations extending beyond the 60-day period would ensure the ceasefire’s continuation.
The reporter highlighted that the offer fails to clarify whether Israel would be barred from unilaterally violating the agreement, as it did in March this year.
This comes as Channel 12 of the Zionist regime’s television network reported netanyahu’s approval of Wittkoff’s latest proposal, citing its non-opposition to new aid distribution mechanisms in Gaza.
