Canadian Prime Minister Speaks With Bin Salman in Phone Call
According to webangah News Agency,Canada’s newly appointed Prime Minister Mark Carney is actively seeking global economic partnerships,with Saudi arabia emerging as a strategic option for Ottawa.
The Canadian Prime Minister’s Office confirmed in a statement that Carney held a telephone conversation with saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday.
The statement noted: “The two leaders discussed energy security and bilateral trade development. They also emphasized the necessity of achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.”
Expanding bilateral relations and economic cooperation were other key topics during the discussion.
The visit of former U.S. President Donald trump to Saudi Arabia, which resulted in multi-billion dollar agreements, has encouraged Canada and other Western nations to strengthen ties with Riyadh.
