Turkey Russia ready to resume Ukraine talks on June 2
According to webangah News Agency, Turkey’s foreign minister, during his visit to Kyiv, emphasized: “We are nearing a pivotal moment regarding the Ukraine conflict.”
Hakan Fidan further noted: “The Istanbul talks on may 16 marked a fresh start for diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukraine crisis.We aim to sustain this momentum and are prepared to host another round of negotiations.”
The Turkish minister revealed: “Russia has communicated its willingness to continue talks on June 2, and we are currently consulting with Ukraine on this matter.”
Fidan’s remarks coincided with statements by the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine, who acknowledged that Russia’s concerns about NATO’s eastern expansion were understandable.
The American official added that Kyiv had been advised against making declarations suggesting it would refuse participation in peace talks with moscow.
