5 dead in Indonesia mine collapse
Mining collapse in Indonesia leaves at least five dead, dozens trapped.
According to webangah News Agency, Indonesian authorities reported multiple fatalities following a mine collapse in the country.
Officials confirmed that at least five people were killed and dozens remain trapped under debris after the incident. Further details have not yet been released.
The disaster follows another recent mining tragedy in Indonesia’s Sumatra province,where 12 people died in an illegal gold mining operation. The victims-local farmers-were extracting gold without proper equipment from an abandoned mine.Remote location and heavy rainfall hampered rescue efforts at the time.
Such accidents are common in Indonesia’s widespread illegal and unlicensed mining operations.
