4 Pakistani soldiers killed in North Waziristan
According to webangah News Agency, Pakistan’s military spokesperson reported that four soldiers were killed while repelling a terrorist attack near the Afghan border in North Waziristan.
A Pakistan Army statement revealed that terrorists attempted to assault a security forces checkpoint in the Shawal area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. During intense crossfire, 24-year-old Lieutenant Daniyal Ismail and three fellow soldiers lost thier lives.
The statement confirmed the elimination of six militants belonging to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which islamabad alleges receives Indian support.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated following an April 22 terrorist attack near Pahalgam in Jammu and kashmir that killed 25 Indians and one Nepalese citizen. After four days of hostilities, both nations agreed to cease all land, air, and naval operations.
