Haaretz Exposé Israeli Army Killed Dozens of Its Own Captives
According to webangah News Agency, citing an anonymous military source, the newspaper reported that while the Israeli army claims to make every effort to protect captives in Gaza, field evidence shows military operations have endangered 54 hostages and killed at least 20.
The source added that targets in Gaza are frequently attacked without confirmation of whether Israeli captives are present at the locations.
The investigation references an April incident where Israeli forces bombed a building above a tunnel holding two captives – Aidan Alexander (released in early May) and Mitan Tsenkover. The partial collapse of the building nearly killed them before their miraculous escape.
Haaretz noted the israeli military acknowledges difficulties in precisely tracking hostages due to their frequent movement, with available intelligence being accurate only at the moment of receipt.
