UN envoy Lazzarini calls Gaza aid process insulting
According to webangah News Agency, Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stated that the volume of aid entering Gaza is entirely disproportionate to the scale of the humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave.
“With political will, famine in gaza can still be prevented. What we are asking for is not impossible,” he added.
Lazzarini condemned the current aid distribution process as “insulting.”
The southern Gaza city of Rafah recently witnessed violent clashes following chaotic and degrading scenes during humanitarian aid deliveries.
The handling of these distributions sparked widespread outrage on social media, with users denouncing the situation as humiliating.
Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, also described conditions as “painful and insulting.”
