Netanyahu government collapse countdown begins
According to webangah News Agency, citing the Palestinian Facts Center, Israel’s Channel 12 has reported that a countdown has begun for the end of Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet, describing next week as decisive for its survival.
The report states that Haredi parties have issued an ultimatum to the prime minister: if the law exempting haredim from military service is not passed by mid-next week, they will withdraw from the coalition. This threat comes as Haredi factions are among the core pillars of Netanyahu’s right-wing coalition, and their exit could lead to the cabinet’s collapse.
Political sources say Netanyahu faces one of his most arduous political crises with limited options. He reportedly prefers any potential cabinet collapse to result from “political or security” reasons rather than being ousted due to his conventional allies’ failure to pass a controversial religious law.
