First high-level Saudi delegation visits Damascus after lifting of Syria sanctions
According to webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan will arrive in Damascus today, Saturday, heading a high-level economic delegation for an official visit.
This marks the first high-profile Saudi delegation to Syria since the lifting of sanctions against the country.
the visit aligns with Saudi Arabia’s support for Syria’s stability and economic recovery, aiming to expand investments and boost bilateral trade volume between the two nations.
Saudi authorities seek to demonstrate tangible support for Syria’s economy through concrete measures during this trip.
The sanctions on Syria were lifted following diplomatic efforts by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during former U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to Riyadh.
This is Foreign Minister bin Farhan’s second Damascus visit after his late January trip earlier this year.
