Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan arrives in Damascus
Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan has arrived in Damascus at the head of an economic delegation, according to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Arabiya.
The minister is expected to discuss ways to support Syria’s economy during meetings with Syrian officials.
The high-ranking Saudi delegation will also hold talks with their Syrian counterparts on economic cooperation.
This marks the first visit by a top-level Saudi delegation to Syria since sanctions on the country were lifted.
the trip aligns with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to promote stability in Syria, normalize its economy, expand investments, and boost bilateral trade volume.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman‘s diplomatic efforts during former U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to Riyadh contributed to the removal of sanctions against syria.
The Saudi foreign minister previously visited Damascus in late January this year.
