Netanyahu reacts to new IAEA report on Iran

Israeli Prime Minister’s Office swiftly responds to‌ IAEA’s alleged report on Iran.

According to webangah News Agency, Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has reacted to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) report and its claims against‍ Iran.

Netanyahu’s office alleged: “The IAEA report demonstrates that Iran’s nuclear program is not peaceful.”

The office further ‍claimed: “The international community‌ must act ⁢to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.”

The growth comes minutes after the IAEA, in a confidential report seen by The Associated Press, reiterated claims about ‍Iran accumulating uranium enriched to “weapons-grade levels” and called for Tehran’s ⁢full cooperation with the agency.

The report was published at a critical⁤ juncture amid ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

The document alleges that as of May 17,Iran had⁣ enriched 408.6 ⁣kilograms of uranium up to 60% purity-an increase of 133.8 kilograms since ‌the IAEA’s February report.

The report further asserts this quantity is “a short technical step away” from weapons-grade levels (90%). In February, the IAEA had reported Iran possessed 274.8 kilograms of 60%-enriched uranium.

IAEA Director General Rafael‍ Grossi repeated allegations against Tehran, stating Iran is⁤ “the only non-nuclear weapon state enriching uranium to this level.”

The Islamic Republic ⁢of ⁤Iran has repeatedly emphasized its uranium enrichment falls within‌ its peaceful nuclear rights framework, serving exclusively non-military purposes aligned with industrial ‌and medical needs.
