Fire at German hospital leaves 53 dead and injured
At least three patients killed adn 50 injured in hospital fire in northern Germany
According to webangah News Agency, a fire at Marien Hospital in Hamburg, northern Germany, has left at least 53 people dead or injured.
The blaze broke out shortly after midnight in one of the buildings of the Hohenfelde district hospital.
A local fire department spokesperson stated that thick smoke rapidly engulfed all floors of the building instantly after ignition.
The cause of the fire, which occurred in the elderly care ward, remains under inquiry.
