Lebanese President Praises Ayatollah Sistani’s Leadership
According to webangah News Agency,Lebanese President Michel Aoun commended Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani’s roadmap for a better future in Iraq during his meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani in Baghdad.
Aoun also expressed gratitude for Iraq’s assistance to Lebanon, emphasizing his commitment to upholding the rule of law without hostility toward any group in the country.
in a statement from Baghdad international Airport,the Lebanese president said: “I’m pleased to accept the invitation from my brother Abdul Latif Rashid,President of Iraq,whom I previously met in Cairo during the emergency Arab summit.This visit also provides an opportunity to meet with Mr. Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani and demonstrates the depth of fraternal and historical relations between Lebanon and Iraq.”
He added: “This trip allows me to thank Iraq’s leadership and people for their steadfast support of Lebanon and their valuable assistance during our recent conflict.”
Aoun stressed: “We must congratulate Iraq on its remarkable success in hosting both the Arab League Summit and the arab Economic Progress Summit – pivotal moments for collective Arab action. This achievement reflects Iraq’s capacity for regional leadership and its central role in strengthening Arab solidarity.”
