Ukrainian drone strikes hit Russian airbases, target Tu-95 bombers
Ukraine’s security service launches large-scale operation, striking over 40 Russian bombers at airbases.
According to webangah News Agency, citing Kyiv Self-reliant, a source within Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) reported that the agency conducted a drone operation targeting more than 40 Russian bombers stationed at the Belaya and Olenya airbases.
The source claimed that Russia’s strategic bombers were “burning en masse” following the attack.
Meanwhile, Andrey Chibis, governor of Russia’s Murmansk region, reported air defense activation in the area-most of which lies within the Arctic Circle.
The drone strike reportedly targeted Tupolev Tu-95 and Tu-22 bombers used by Moscow for long-range missile attacks against Ukraine, Reuters sources confirmed.
