Ukraine: Strike on Russian Airports Carried Out Under Zelensky’s Supervision
Ukrainian media reported that the attacks on Russian airfields were personally overseen by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and executed by the head of ukraine’s security Service (SBU) and his team, according to webangah News Agency.
The operation targeted Russia’s strategic aircraft, resulting in the destruction of 41 planes-a mission requiring a year and a half of preparations.
Ukraine’s Security service earlier claimed responsibility for a drone strike that hit over 40 Russian bombers stationed at the “Belya” and “Olnya” airbases. Kyiv asserted that Moscow’s strategic bombers were “burning en masse” during the attack.
Sources cited by Reuters alleged that Tupolev Tu-95 and Tu-22 long-range bombers-used by Russia to launch missiles against Ukraine-were among those struck in the drone operation.
