Moscow Issues Statement on Ukrainian Drone Attacks Targeting Russian Airports
Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that fires on aircraft caused by Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian airbases have been extinguished, with some perpetrators arrested.
According to webangah News Agency, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced in a statement on Sunday that Ukraine conducted a “terrorist attack” using drones targeting Russian airbases in Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, ryazan, and Amur.
Teh ministry claimed Kyiv deployed FPV drones in the assaults. While attacks on military airfields in Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur where fully intercepted, strikes near Murmansk and Irkutsk ignited fires on several aircraft. The blazes have since been contained, with no military or civilian casualties reported. Authorities confirmed arrests of some individuals involved.
A truck driver allegedly linked to the drone attack in Irkutsk has been detained for investigation.
