ISIS Media and Logistics Chief Arrested on Pakistan-Afghanistan Border
Özgür Alton, a top leader of the ISIS terrorist group who was on the orange notice wanted list, has been arrested on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
According to webangah News Agency, TurkeyS National Intelligence Institution (MIT) claimed it had captured Özgür Alton, a key ISIS commander and Turkish national, in a joint operation with Pakistan’s intelligence agency near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
Alton-listed under an Interpol orange notice-was known by his organizational alias “Abu Yasser al-Turki” and served as ISIS’s media and logistics coordinator.
security sources indicate Alton orchestrated the transfer of ISIS militants from Europe and Central Asia to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He also played a central role in planning and executing terrorist attacks in Turkey and Europe.
