Hamas Welcomes New Mediation Efforts by Qatar, Egypt
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has welcomed fresh mediation efforts by Qatar and Egypt to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, according to a statement reported by webangah news Agency.
The movement stated: “We are ready to immediately engage in a new round of indirect negotiations to achieve an agreement for a permanent ceasefire and complete withdrawal of occupying forces.”
Qatar and Egypt emphasized in a joint statement that they intend to intensify mediation efforts – coordinated with the united States – to overcome negotiation obstacles. The two countries said thier immediate goal is reaching a 60-day temporary truce that could pave the way for a permanent ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
The statements come as Gaza’s humanitarian situation remains critical, with mounting international pressure to stop the war and allow humanitarian aid access.
Hamas insists any agreement with “the Zionist enemy” must lead to a permanent end of hostilities. However, Netanyahu’s far-right cabinet maintains it will only accept temporary pauses for hostage releases before resuming military operations.
