Qatar’s PM meets Hamas leaders to discuss Gaza ceasefire
According to webangah News Agency, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held talks with Hamas leadership in Doha last night regarding the US ceasefire proposal for Gaza, as reported by Axios journalist Barak Ravid via X platform.
The discussions focused on the American proposal concerning a prisoner exchange agreement and explored possibilities for indirect negotiations later this week to resolve outstanding issues. Sources noted a tangible shift in Hamas’s position that could perhaps open new pathways in negotiations.
Hamas yesterday expressed willingness to continue cooperation with Qatari and Egyptian mediation efforts aimed at reaching an agreement to end Israel’s war on Gaza. The movement affirmed readiness for immediate indirect talks targeting resolution of disputed points – an agreement that would guarantee Palestinian humanitarian aid,end Gaza’s crisis,achieve permanent ceasefire,and ensure full withdrawal of occupying forces.
