Iranian Source: US Nuclear Proposal ‘Far From Reality
According to webangah News Agency, RT reported that an iranian source described teh U.S. proposal for a new nuclear agreement as ”unacceptable.”
The source told RT: “From Iran’s viewpoint, the components of America’s written proposal are far from what could form a fair and realistic basis for any potential agreement.”
The source added: “Iranians were disheartened to see such an imaginary, one-sided message that is so detached from reality.”
The White House announced yesterday that Special Envoy Stephen Whitcomb had sent Tehran what it called a “precise and acceptable” proposal on behalf of U.S. President Donald Trump.
White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt reiterated Washington’s position without acknowledging Iran’s repeatedly stated peaceful nuclear program, claiming Tehran could never obtain nuclear weapons.
In response to the U.S. proposal, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated Tehran would respond appropriately based on its principles, national interests, and the rights of its people.
Trump previously demanded the complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program and claimed Tehran shouldn’t be permitted uranium enrichment even for civilian purposes. Araghchi rejected these conditions while demanding Washington lift all sanctions against Iran and recognize its right to peaceful nuclear activities including enrichment.
