Ukraine claims it targeted Russian military airbases in​ a rare ⁣long-range drone attack.

According to the English ⁤section of webangah News Agency, Ukraine launched strikes⁣ against Russian military airfields located​ 1,900 to 4,000 km from ‍its ⁢borders-marking an ‍unprecedented⁣ attack ahead of planned negotiations​ with Moscow in Turkey after over 40 months of war.

the Ukrainian ‌Air force (KAF) stated the operation followed​ a ⁢year ‌and a half of preparation and training, damaging approximately 40‍ Russian fighter jets and strategic bombers.

Kyiv reported conducting ⁢a special operation near ​Russia’s Arctic region of Murmansk, approximately 1,600 km from Ukrainian territory. A separate strike allegedly targeted a military airfield in Irkutsk, ‍eastern Siberia-nearly 4,000 km from Ukraine.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed to ⁣have thwarted what it called a “terrorist attack,” denying any military‍ or civilian casualties ‌at the affected bases.Moscow asserted it ​had detained individuals linked ‌to the operations.
