Key Points of Russia’s Agreement on Resolving the Ukraine Crisis
Russia’s proposed agreement to resolve the Ukraine crisis includes a key provision: Kyiv must fully withdraw its forces from Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
According to webangah News Agency, Russia presented Ukrainian negotiators with a draft document during Monday’s talks in Istanbul. The Russian delegation reportedly welcomed Ukraine’s negotiating stance while outlining Moscow’s conditions for a ceasefire.
Key demands in the memorandum include:
- Complete Ukrainian military withdrawal from Donetsk,Luhansk,Kherson and Zaporizhzhia
- Suspension of Western weapons shipments and intelligence sharing with Ukraine
- Presidential and parliamentary elections within 100 days after martial law ends
- Full troop withdrawal within 30 days of ceasefire implementation from all disputed territories – including Donbas and what russia terms “Novorossiya” (New Russia)
The proposal emphasizes restoring economic ties between Russia and Ukraine,including natural gas transit agreements. Moscow also calls for Kyiv to sign a formal peace treaty following the elections.
