Trump and Netanyahu Discuss Ongoing Iran Negotiations

As a U.S. outlet reveals Washington’s new proposal granting Iran the right to enrich uranium up to 3% domestically, Trump and Netanyahu⁣ held a phone call discussing the ongoing nuclear negotiations.

According ‍to webangah News Agency,Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth ⁣newspaper reported that former U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone today regarding the current Iran nuclear talks.‌ No‍ further details of their conversation were disclosed.

The discussion followed an Axios report citing sources claiming the U.S. ⁤has conceded to Iran’s right⁢ to conduct limited uranium enrichment on its soil. The proposed deal would⁢ temporarily allow low-level enrichment within Iran ⁢for a ‍yet-to-be-determined period, creating what Axios described as “a clearer path” toward an agreement.

The plan reportedly bars Tehran from building new enrichment facilities and demands ‍dismantlement of key uranium conversion infrastructure. It also requires iran to halt research on advanced centrifuges while proposing a regional enrichment consortium.

Crucial restrictions: ‌ The draft agreement prohibits expanding enrichment beyond peaceful purposes, caps levels at 3%, ⁤and mandates temporary shutdowns of underground facilities with limits on above-ground operations. Sanctions relief would require verified compliance ⁣by Iran and approval ‌from both the U.S. and IAEA.

the proposal marks a⁣ reversal from previous U.S. positions were officials like Secretary of⁤ State Mike Pompeo and envoy Stephen Witkoff insisted Iran must completely abandon domestic enrichment-a red line Tehran consistently ⁤maintained was non-negotiable.
