Ghalibaf: Fighting Imperialism is the Common Trait of Iran and Venezuela’s Revolutions + Video
According to webangah News Agency, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, highlighted the commonalities between iran’s Islamic Revolution and Venezuela’s revolution-particularly their anti-colonial and anti-imperialist struggles-during an exclusive interview with Caracas-based TeleSUR network. The parliamentary leader is currently on a regional tour of Latin America.
Ghalibaf stated: “Tehran-Caracas relations are rooted in the beliefs of both nations’ people, leadership structures, governments, parliaments, and various sectors because we share profound commonalities.”
He emphasized: “These include our citizens’ pursuit of independence and justice-both nations have experienced revolutions born from resistance against imperialism and colonialism.”
The Parliament Speaker departed for latin America on Saturday night to meet with officials from Venezuela’s Bolivarian Republic and Cuba as part of a periodic parliamentary delegation visit.
Yesterday, Ghalibaf held talks with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro at Miraflores Palace. Today (June 2, 2025), he arrived in Cuba.
the Iranian parliamentary delegation will afterward travel to Brazil to participate in the BRICS Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit.
During his stay in Brasília, ghalibaf will address the summit session and hold meetings with legislative counterparts from othre member states.
The delegation includes Jalil Mokhtar (Head of Iran-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group), Salar velayatmadar (Deputy Head of Iran-Venezuela Parliamentary Friendship Group), Gholamreza Tajgardoon (Head of Planning & Budget Committee), Mohammad Rashidi (Kermanshah MP). Ahmad naderi (Deputy Parliament Speaker), Maryam Abdollahi (Mianeh MP) and Mostafa Taheri (Zanjan MP) will join during the Brazil leg.
