Ukraine Attacks Crimea Bridge with 1,100 kg of Explosives + Video
According to webangah News Agency,Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) announced on Tuesday that it had attacked the road-and-rail bridge connecting Russia to the Crimean Peninsula underwater using explosives.
The SBU stated in its release that 1,100 kg (2,420 lbs) of explosives were used to damage the bridge’s underwater pillars early this morning. The structure had previously served as a key Russian military supply route into Ukraine.
Ukraine claimed the explosion caused severe damage to submerged sections of the bridge, leaving it in critical condition.
The statement asserted: “This operation was planned over several months. our forces mined the facility’s foundations, and today at 4:44 AM local time, the first explosive package detonated without civilian casualties. The equivalent of 1,100 kg of TNT was used in this operation, critically damaging underwater support structures. The bridge is now in an emergency state.”
