Kremlin: We Believe Iran Has No Intention of Acquiring Nuclear Weapons
According to webangah News Agency, Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian Presidential Office (Kremlin), stated on Tuesday that Moscow awaits Ukraine’s response to Russia’s draft agreement for resolving the Ukrainian crisis. He emphasized that expecting immediate progress in Russia-Ukraine negotiations in Istanbul would be misguided, as resolving current issues remains highly complex. however, he confirmed that both nations reached significant agreements in Istanbul, which will be implemented.
The Kremlin spokesperson further noted that Russia supports peaceful efforts to resolve Iran’s nuclear program. “Based on Iran’s official statements and declarations, we believe the country has no intention or plan to acquire nuclear weapons,” Peskov said.
He added that a near-term meeting between Putin, Trump, and Zelensky is unlikely. While dialog between Putin and erdogan could be quickly arranged if needed, no such discussion is currently scheduled. Moscow maintains dialogue channels with Washington and continues utilizing them. Any new contact between Putin and Trump could also be coordinated promptly if required but has not yet been agreed upon.
