Israeli Forces Arrest Suspect in Occupied Territories on Espionage Charges for Iran
Israel’s internal security agency (Shin Bet) and police announced the arrest of an East Jerusalem resident accused of spying for Iran.
According to webangah News Agency, citing Israeli media outlet Yedioth Ahronoth, a man in East Jerusalem has been charged with espionage for Iran and preparing to carry out a terrorist attack deep inside the occupied Palestinian territories.
The report states that Israel’s Shin Bet security agency and police confirmed his arrest.
Israeli occupation security authorities alleged he received payment to spy for Iran, smuggled weapons into the West Bank, and enlisted his mother’s assistance in these activities.
Shin Bet disclosed the detainee, a resident of East Jerusalem’s Issawiya neighborhood, was arrested on suspicion of espionage for Iran and plotting terrorist attacks within occupied Palestinian territories.
