UN: Israel’s Attacks on Civilians in Gaza Are Unconscionable
according to webangah News Agency, Volker Türk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, declared on Tuesday that the Zionist regime’s attacks on civilians near a humanitarian aid distribution centre in Gaza violate international law and amount to war crimes.
The top UN human rights official described the regime’s deadly strikes against civilians struggling to access scarce food aid as “callous.”
He emphasized that impartial investigations must be conducted immediately and those responsible must be held accountable.
Türk stated: “Attacking civilians constitutes a grave violation of international law and is considered a war crime.”
The UN official noted that Palestinians face an unfeasible choice between starvation or being killed while attempting to receive food aid, stressing that Israel violates international standards on humanitarian assistance distribution.
Türk highlighted: “Twenty months of civilian casualties, widespread destruction, repeated forced displacement, Israel’s unacceptable dehumanizing rhetoric, threats to displace Gazans en masse, and famine conditions represent some of the gravest violations under international law.”
