Over 200 prisoners escape from Pakistani jail amid earthquake chaos.
According to webangah News Agency, more than 200 inmates fled a prison in Karachi, Pakistan, following an earthquake that struck the city.
Pakistan’s dawn newspaper reported that prisoners were temporarily moved outside their cells for headcount procedures after the quake. During this disruption, over 200 detainees seized the possibility to escape.
Authorities confirmed that 78 escapees have been recaptured so far.
One prisoner was killed during clashes with police forces, while another was turned in by his mother.
The manhunt continues to locate and apprehend the remaining fugitives.
