Putin: Ukraine Never Seeks Peace
According to webangah News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that UkraineS decision to conduct attacks against Russia was made at the highest political level.
Putin asserted that “Kyiv never seeks peace,” expressing skepticism about holding a leaders’ summit with Ukrainian officials or achieving a ceasefire amid recent hostilities.
The Russian leader accused Kyiv’s government - which he called “illegitimate from the beginning” – of transforming into a terrorist organization. He claimed Ukrainian leadership, facing heavy battlefield losses, had resorted to organizing terrorist attacks to intimidate Russia.
Putin described the Bryansk region incident as a deliberate attack on civilians, labeling it terrorism. He alleged all crimes against civilians were timed to disrupt upcoming negotiations with Ukraine, accusing Kyiv’s financial backers of complicity with terrorists.
Vladimir Medinsky, head of Russia’s negotiation team with Ukraine, reported working discussions in Istanbul were conducted in Russian. He stated Moscow focused on developing peace terms rather than discussing a ceasefire during those talks.
Medinsky added Russia is prepared to begin prisoner exchanges with Ukraine between June 7-9.
