Trump and Putin Discuss Iran’s Nuclear Program
According to webangah News Agency,US President Donald Trump stated he held discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding Iran’s nuclear program and Ukraine’s recent attacks on russia.
Despite repeated reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirming Iran’s full cooperation with inspectors and Tehran’s diplomatic approach in indirect negotiations with the US, trump claimed “Iran is moving slowly in decision-making about the nuclear deal.”
While IAEA reports and statements by Iranian political figures consistently deny any effort by Tehran to obtain nuclear weapons, Trump asserted that Iran must not be allowed to possess such arms. He said he and Putin agreed on this position.
Iran has repeatedly declared its nuclear activities are peaceful, with no deviation toward military purposes.
trump revealed that Putin proposed participating in indirect negotiations with Iran, suggesting this could help reach a swift resolution.
The US president also referenced developments in the Ukraine war, calling the conversation productive while acknowledging it wouldn’t lead to immediate peace.
A special representative of Putin for economic cooperation described the leaders’ discussion as vital for international security and peace, expressing Moscow’s hope for bilateral cooperation.
The Kremlin confirmed the phone call in an official statement.
