U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Warns American Citizens: Take Shelter
The US Embassy in Ukraine has urged American citizens to take shelter, warning that a heavy Russian attack against the contry is imminent, according to webangah News Agency.
The alert follows a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former US President Donald Trump, where Putin reportedly stated Moscow must respond to Ukraine’s recent strikes on Russian airports.
Tensions escalated after Ukraine’s surprise drone operation last Sunday – codenamed ”Spider Web” by Kyiv – targeted Russian airbases. Kremlin officials vowed retaliation for the attack.
Ukrainian authorities claim the operation destroyed or damaged 41 Russian aircraft, including strategic bombers. Though, Bloomberg cites informed sources suggesting the actual number of affected aircraft is closer to 10.
The New york Times reports preliminary assessments from US and European security officials indicate approximately 20 Russian warplanes sustained significant damage. This includes six Tu-95 strategic bombers, four Tu-22M bombers, and several A-50 early warning aircraft.
