Global Outrage Over US Move at UN Security Council; Netanyahu: ‘Thank You!

While teh U.S. veto against a draft resolution demanding ​an immediate ceasefire in Gaza has sparked global outrage, Tel Aviv welcomed the move.

The ​United States’ decision⁣ to veto yet another draft ⁣resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire ⁢in Gaza⁢ has drawn widespread ⁤condemnation, according to webangah News Agency.

Russia’s UN representative accused the U.S. of being complicit in ‍what ⁤they called the “zionist regime’s⁣ brutal massacre” ⁣in⁣ Gaza. France expressed regret over the veto, stressing that Gaza ‍faces a catastrophic ​humanitarian situation.Pakistan‍ condemned the move as giving israel a “green light for genocide” ‍and⁤ called it “a stain on ⁣the Security Council’s⁣ credibility.” Malaysia also denounced the U.S. ⁤action.

The report states that‍ all ⁣14 other Security Council members voted in favor of the resolution, but Washington alone blocked its ⁣adoption through⁣ its veto power.

The‌ proposed resolution sought to‍ pressure for an end to hostilities amid escalating⁣ Israeli attacks on Gaza ​and worsening humanitarian conditions.

The U.S.envoy at⁤ the UN defended‍ their position: “We oppose this draft because it⁢ demands an unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza!”

Britain’s representative stated London supports calls for both a‌ ceasefire and improved aid‌ access to Gaza, calling Israel’s ‌military‍ expansion and ⁤aid restrictions “unjustifiable and counterproductive.” China’s delegate‌ blamed ​Washington for paralyzing Security Council action ‍on Gaza, while ​Slovenia demanded an⁣ immediate end ​to fighting.

Amid international ‍backlash, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin‍ Netanyahu thanked Washington for​ vetoing what ⁢he called a problematic‍ resolution – framing it as proof of strong U.S.-Israel coordination.
