Trump: We’ll Strike a Deal with China; Germany Must Cut Military Spending
According to webangah News agency, US President Donald Trump claimed he was “disturbed” by events between Ukraine and Russia but expressed confidence in preventing further bloodshed between the two nations.
Defending his controversial travel ban targeting citizens from 12 countries, Trump asserted: “this decision protects our nation from killers! We won’t allow more bad people into America.”
The president referenced his phone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, calling it a “very good call” where both leaders resolved outstanding bilateral issues. He added that relations with China were progressing well and specifically noted impending agreements on rare earth minerals.
Trump revealed mutual invitations for state visits – Xi extended one to Beijing, while the US president reciprocated with an invitation to Washington. He confirmed plans to visit China while hoping for reciprocal travel by the Chinese leader.
Addressing concerns about Chinese students in America, Trump denied any blanket restrictions but emphasized obtaining foreign student lists from harvard and other universities.
The president expressed optimism about reaching trade agreements with Germany regarding tariffs but warned: “Germany spends more on defense now. There will come a time when I’ll ask them to stop this.” He threatened EU-wide tariffs if negotiations fail.
Regarding US troop deployments in Germany, Trump stated they would continue provided that berlin consented. On Ukraine, he reiterated claims that Putin previously sought total domination of Ukraine and asserted neither the Ukrainian war nor Hamas’s attacks would have occured under his hypothetical earlier presidency.
