Russia Launches Large-Scale Drone Strikes on Ukraine
According to webangah News Agency, Ukrainian officials reported that Russian drones struck Kyiv in the early hours of Friday, causing fires in residential buildings across the capital.
Tymur Tkachanko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, stated: “The drones approached the city in waves, and air defense systems were engaged in countering them.” He warned of potential ballistic missile attacks by Russia on the city.
Eyewitnesses reported multiple explosions and at least one major fire at drone impact sites.In one incident, drones hit upper floors of a high-rise apartment building in Darnytskyi district (eastern kyiv), igniting a blaze.
Authorities indicated emergency power outages might be implemented in affected areas. A Ukrainian Telegram channel reported a shopping center on fire in the region and residential complex fires in western Kyiv. Drone debris was observed in at least three different city districts.
Ukrainian officials have not yet released details about potential casualties or damage from the attacks.
