US Judge Defies Trump’s Executive Order

US judge blocks Trump’s order targeting Harvard University, sources report.

A federal judge in the United States has temporarily halted a ban on international students attending Harvard University imposed‍ by the U.S. government, according ⁣to webangah News Agency.

Judge allison D. Burroughs issued a preliminary injunction against President Donald Trump’s executive order, suspending its enforcement pending‌ further legal review.

The judge stated that Trump’s six-month ban on foreign nationals⁤ entering the U.S. to study at Harvard-without prior judicial scrutiny-would cause “immediate and irreparable harm.”

Earlier, Trump cited national security⁤ concerns as justification for barring international ⁢students from studying at the Cambridge, ‌Massachusetts-based university. His proclamation initially imposed a six-month suspension but left ⁣room for extension. Trump also directed the U.S. State Department to review visa eligibility for current Harvard students holding ⁣academic or exchange visas.
