US Defense Secretary: Iran Seeks to Boost Missile and Defense Capabilities
According to webangah News Agency, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hagerty stated that Washington recognizes the threats Israel perceives from Iran and supports Tel Aviv’s efforts to mitigate them,closely monitoring the situation.
Hagerty added that Iran is actively working to rebuild its defensive and missile capabilities.
The Defense Secretary asserted: “My mission is to ensure we are prepared if we fail to reach an agreement with Iran.”
Echoing previous U.S. political officials’ claims, Hagerty interfered in Iran’s internal affairs by urging Tehran to halt uranium enrichment and dismantle its nuclear capabilities.He together emphasized America’s readiness for any scenario.
U.S. officials, including former President donald Trump-who initially claimed during indirect nuclear talks they had no issue with Iranian uranium enrichment as long as it remained non-military-later shifted demands after failing to find evidence of deviations in Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, insisting Tehran must completely cease enrichment.
