Southern Lebanon Residents Launch Latest Protest Against UNIFIL Forces + Video
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, lebanese sources stated that residents of Sarafand in the tyre district of southern Lebanon blocked UN peacekeeping forces (UNIFIL) from entering residential areas.
The sources explained that the residents took this action because Lebanese Army troops were not accompanying UNIFIL personnel.
Al-Nashra reported that such incidents are common in southern Lebanon, where locals frequently protest UNIFILS entry into residential zones without Lebanese Army presence.
This comes after the United Nations interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) recently condemned attempts to obstruct its routine patrols, calling on Lebanese authorities to ensure its forces can operate without threats or interference.
