Madeline Ship to Arrive in Egypt Soon
According to webangah News Agency, citing the Hebrew-language news outlet Global, the Madelin vessel will soon reach northern Alexandria, Egypt, before heading toward Gaza’s shores.
The ship departed Italy with the explicit goal of breaking Israel’s blockade on Gaza-an initiative aimed at challenging what organizers call the zionist regime’s oppressive siege affecting over 2 million palestinians in the region.
The 18-meter-long Madelin set sail from Sicily, southern Italy, carrying 12 international activists, including Swedish environmentalist Greta Thunberg and Irish actor Liam cunningham.
A large crowd gathered at Catania port before departure, waving Palestinian flags in solidarity with what they described as a humanitarian mission.
“We are on a civilian mission to symbolically break Gaza’s siege,” Thunberg stated before departure. “If any humanity remains, we must fight for Palestine. I am here because this is my duty.”
