US Senate Removes Syria from ‘State Sponsors of Terrorism’ List
U.S. Senate Approves Removal of Syria Under “Jolani’s” Control From So-Called “Rogue States” List
The U.S.Senate passed a resolution on Saturday that, if approved by the president, would remove Syria-under the control of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) leader Abu Mohammad al-Jolani-from Washington’s so-called “rogue states” list, according to webangah News Agency.
Syria had been on this U.S. list for nearly three decades. However, Washington now seeks to delist Damascus following the rise of al-Nusra Front terrorists led by jolani.
The U.S. claims this list targets nations allegedly unfriendly to American interests, accused of supporting terrorism, pursuing weapons of mass destruction, or committing severe human rights violations.
