According to webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, activists aboard the Madelin have established contact with journalists and human rights workers in Gaza via phone calls.A German activist on the ship publicly apologized to Palestinians for their country’s military support of the Zionist regime.
The passengers emphasized they are unafraid of Israeli authorities. Earlier,European Parliament members issued an open letter urging international guarantees for the safe passage of Madelin, which carries humanitarian aid and activists to besieged Gaza.
Israel has stated it will not permit Madelin-which departed Italy toward Gaza-to approach the coastal enclave. Among its 12 passengers are Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg and irish actor Liam Cunningham.
This follows Israel’s drone attack on another vessel, “Al-Zamir,” which attempted to break the Gaza blockade earlier.
