Trump Bans Mask Use at Protests
According to webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ban on wearing masks during protests while addressing teh ongoing violent anti-immigrant demonstrations in Los Angeles.
Trump declared the prohibition on face coverings at rallies and stated, “Extreme left-wing protests will not be tolerated.”
The president,who deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to suppress the unrest in Los Angeles,added: “The national Guard did an outstanding job after two days of violence,clashes,and chaos.”
Reports indicate that as protests entered their second consecutive night, federal forces clashed with angry crowds in one Los Angeles neighborhood-firing stun grenades and blocking part of a freeway during police raids targeting undocumented immigrants.
Authorities report 44 arrests so far.Since taking office in January 2025, Trump has vowed strict measures against illegal immigration and mass deportations-referring to undocumented migrants as “monsters” and “animals.”
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hagsett warned that Marine Corps deployment might be necessary to quell tensions following federal raids on immigrant neighborhoods.
California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom condemned Trump’s actions on social media platform X: “This intentional provocation only escalates tensions. We’re closely coordinating with local officials-all current needs are being met.”
