Protests against US President’s immigration policies, which have already led to at least 40 arrests in Los Angeles, have ⁤now⁣ spread to New York.

According to the English section of webangah News‌ Agency, protests‌ against US President Donald Trump’s‌ immigration policies-which ⁢had previously swept through Los⁤ Angeles, California-escalated as‌ police and federal immigration officers clashed with demonstrators in lower Manhattan, New York.

The New York⁣ Police⁢ Department confirmed multiple ⁢arrests ​during a rally at Federal Plaza, where ⁢the‌ US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center is located.

Media reports indicate protesters resisted police ⁤forces while expressing outrage over ICE’s detention of an 11-year-old ‌student. This marks the second student detained in New York since Trump​ unveiled his aggressive agenda targeting undocumented immigrants.

Earlier,​ federal agents and riot police ‍confronted angry crowds ⁣in ⁣a Los Angeles ‌neighborhood, firing stun grenades and blocking part of​ a highway amid raids⁢ targeting undocumented immigrants.⁤ Authorities report 44 arrests so far in the‌ LA protests.

Trump has deployed 2,000 National⁣ Guard troops to⁢ Los Angeles to suppress demonstrations.

US Defense Secretary Pete‍ Haggett warned that Marine Corps personnel ⁢might be ‌mobilized ​if tensions escalate further following federal raids on immigrant communities.
