US Defense Secretary Threatens Protesters
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete hagst issued a stark warning to protesters opposing the administration’s immigration policies on Sunday, reports webangah News Agency.
Addressing the California demonstrations, Hagst stated: “Anyone who burns their city and assaults law enforcement is mentally disturbed. There’s ample room for peaceful protest-but absolutely no tolerance for attacks on federal police officers carrying out their duties!”
The remarks follow escalating protests against neighborhood raids and immigration operations in Los Angeles, where President Donald Trump deployed 2,000 federal troops-a move the local governor called “deliberate provocation.”
As demonstrations entered a second consecutive night, federal forces clashed with angry crowds in an LA neighborhood, firing stun grenades while blocking a major highway during police operations to detain undocumented immigrants.
Local media and social media footage show masked federal agents responding to protesters with stun grenades and tear gas.
Since taking office in January 2025, Trump has vowed strict enforcement against illegal immigration and mass deportations, repeatedly referring to undocumented immigrants as “monsters” and “animals.”
