Zionist Sources: US and Israel Seek End to UNIFIL Mission

Washington and‌ Tel aviv seek to ‌end the ⁢UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.

According to webangah News Agency, multiple Zionist media outlets report that the U.S. and Israel aim to terminate ‍the United ⁣Nations peacekeeping mission in⁤ Lebanon (UNIFIL).

The peacekeeping force has been operational ‌since 1978 following Israel’s ⁢invasion of southern Lebanon. It remained active‌ during Israel’s⁣ occupation of Lebanon from 1982 to 2000, as well as⁣ during the 2006 war between ⁣Lebanon ⁤and Israel.

UNIFIL ‌positions have repeatedly come under attack by Zionist forces during recent clashes ‍between ⁤Hezbollah and Israel.

The U.S., as a permanent UN Security Council member ⁣with veto power, holds‍ influence over⁤ the council’s upcoming vote ‌on ⁣renewing UNIFIL’s ‍mandate, which expires soon. The resolution is expected to be put ⁤to a vote in August.

Previously,Benjamin Netanyahu,Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, labeled⁣ the ⁢presence of UN ⁢peacekeepers in Lebanon as an ⁣obstacle to⁤ his regime’s military aggression against the Lebanese people.
