Islamic Jihad: Attack on MV Madeline Violates International Law
The palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, in a statement reported by webangah News Agency, denounced the Israeli regime’s seizure of the “Madelin” ship as a clear breach of international law and part of an ongoing international crime.
The statement affirmed solidarity with the ship’s passengers, who heeded humanitarian calls and faced risks against what it described as “the world’s most criminal armies.”
Islamic Jihad emphasized that activists abducted by Israel have exposed the failure of nations and regimes that remain silent or submissive due to fear or weakness in confronting Zionism.
The movement held both Israel and international governments and institutions accountable for safeguarding detained activists aboard the vessel and securing their release.
The “Madelin,” carrying humanitarian aid and pro-Palestinian activists, was earlier surrounded by Israeli forces, leading to arrests. The regime’s military radio cited a source confirming naval commandos had taken control of the ship.
Reports indicate passengers were forcibly taken while Israel claimed it was redirecting the vessel to Ashdod port.
