French Foreign Minister Takes Stand on Madeleine Ship Incident
According to webangah News Agency, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot demanded that Israeli authorities provide consular protection for French nationals aboard the “Madelin” after israel’s naval forces intercepted the vessel in international waters.
The French Foreign Minister stated: “Our consular staff are present to protect the activists on board the Madelin.”
He emphasized: “We will determine the nature of this incident after confirming where exactly the Madelin was seized.”
The minister added: “We have requested israeli authorities ensure consular protection for our citizens on the ship.”
Separately, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry announced it is monitoring its citizens aboard the Madelin, stating: ”Our embassy in Tel Aviv will take necessary steps to secure their release quickly.”
