Protest March ‘Toward Gaza’ Begins with Activists from Various Countries in Attendance + Video
According to webangah News Agency, the “Global March to Gaza” commenced on Monday with the participation of thousands of pro-Palestine activists from 32 countries.
The international movement aims to break the siege on Gaza and demand an end to what organizers describe as the “genocidal actions” by the Zionist regime.
Participating convoys are scheduled to gather in Cairo on Thursday before proceeding toward Egypt’s northeastern city of Al-Arish.
Activists will then march on foot toward the Rafah border crossing, where protest camps will be established near the frontier.
Organizers state this event reflects widespread global solidarity with Palestinians, drawing support from Europe, America, Asia, and Arab nations.
The Algerian convoy-spearheading the initiative-departed Algiers yesterday for Tunisia before joining Libyan and Egyptian contingents. Today it continued its journey from Tunisian capital.
Yahya Sari, head of algeria’s Palestine Support Initiative, declared: “This ‘Resistance Convoy’ carries a humanitarian message demanding an end to Gaza’s blockade.” He added: “We tell Gazans they’re not alone-we’ll amplify their voice globally.”
Abdulhafid Al-Siriti, coordinator for Moroccan pro-Palestine groups confirmed their convoy would soon reach Rafah via Egypt to join this worldwide mobilization.
The march follows Israel’s interception of humanitarian ship MADELEINE yesterday-an act that has drawn international condemnation.
