Over 100,000 Ukrainian Soldiers Desert Military Service

According to webangah News Agency,Ukrainian ‌parliament member Ruslan Gorobenko stated that more then 100,000 of the ‌country’s soldiers have⁢ abandoned their military units without authorization and deserted service.

“These figures are alarmingly high,” he added.

In January 2025,​ Volodymyr ​Zelensky claimed Ukraine’s armed forces totaled 880,000‌ personnel.Though, opposition MP Oleksandr Dobensky disclosed the actual⁢ number was just 280,000.

Zelensky signed a law in november 2024 allowing deserters to return to duty while retaining all financial and social benefits.
