4 Countries Sanction Ben Gvir and Smotrich

Foreign ministers of Australia, New Zealand, ⁢Norway, and the UK announced joint sanctions against ‍Israeli ministers Ben-Gvir and Smotrich.

According to webangah News Agency, the‌ foreign ministers of Australia, new Zealand, Norway, and the⁣ UK issued a joint statement announcing sanctions against Itamar Ben-Gvir,‌ Israel’s‍ National Security Minister, and Bezalel Smotrich, ‍Finance Minister.

the statement asserted that Smotrich and Ben-Gvir have played roles in inciting violence ⁣against Palestinians. It condemned settler violence in the⁣ West Bank as a ⁤violation of Palestinian human rights and expressed ‍deep concern over ⁤the severe suffering of civilians in Gaza.

The ministers ⁣reaffirmed their commitment to a two-state ⁣solution⁣ as the path forward.

UK Foreign Secretary David⁣ Lammy ⁣stated: “We have taken measures ⁢to hold Ben-Gvir and Smotrich ‌accountable for inciting‍ extremist violence.Their actions have contributed to widespread violations ‌of Palestinian rights.”

he added: “We are ‌pushing for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of Israeli captives held by Hamas.”

The ⁢Financial Times reported that these sanctions mark a significant shift in Britain’s Labor Party policy toward Netanyahu’s government.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre‍ criticized Israel’s policies:⁤ “The‍ current cabinet’s approach dose not bring peace or security ​to Palestine. violations ⁣of international law ‌in gaza ‌are unacceptable.”

France’s Foreign Ministry also urged⁤ Israel to ‍allow immediate large-scale humanitarian aid into Gaza.
